MARGARET PENA — JUVELIER

FOUNDER  |  PRESIDENT

Internationally-minded, yet with a laser sharp focus on her Caribbean community, the dynamic Puerto Rico Sotheby’s International Realty Founder and President, Margaret Pena-Juvelier, brings a great deal of skill, expertise, and knowledge to this region’s ever-changing real estate market. Since 2012, she has led her brilliant team of sales professionals to achieve over $900 million in sales, and is instrumental in steering the company gracefully in its day-to-day operations, especially during one of Puerto Rico’s most challenging economic times after Hurricane Maria’s onslaught to the island back in 2017 and most recently during the challenging global pandemic. Margaret’s leadership success is primarily due to her hard work and dedication to her craft. The NYC-born native who is also fluent in Spanish, French, and Portuguese languages, continually strives to reach greater heights, as seen in her prior 28 years at the acclaimed New York Sotheby’s International Realty office where she was the acting Senior Vice President and Associate Broker. During this time, Margaret sold in excess of $800 million worth of properties, including a 5th Avenue property setting a record sale substantially above the asking price. Her performance as a producer was consistently in the top percentile, and she was recognized as one of the top ten brokers in 2007 and 2011. Her long list of real estate accomplishments in some of the most elite areas of Manhattan is nothing short of enviable to her colleagues and peers, and has captured the journalistic eyes of The Wall Street Journal and Gotham Magazine. Margaret has sold over $1 billion worth in properties, continuing to elevate Puerto Rico's placement on the global stage.

With Margaret’s high level of mastery within her profession and her immense drive, she has brought the Sotheby’s brand to the forefront as a leader in Puerto Rico’s luxury real estate market. Her vision of bridging the international investment community, particularly in Asia, with Puerto Rico’s Caribbean shores, has garnered much attention to the island from the rest of the world. She is frequently quoted in local and international publications, including Time Magazine, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and New York Times. As an advisor and trusted mentor, Margaret’s been invited to speak at events such as the annual Puerto Rico Investment Summit and international real estate conferences around the world. During the challenging 2021 season, her team reached sales in excess of $330 million, consistently becoming the number one residential real estate firm on the island year after year.

Margaret is a resident of CoBe (Condado Beach), where she shares her life with Didier Lorence, who often inspires her with his work as an international Interior and Art Consultant. She also enjoys having her daughter, Oriana, living in the vicinity. When she is not attending office meetings or clients’ needs, Margaret relishes in the quiet and company of her family.
